Capricorn Power

Renewable Energy

Our product is an innovative response to the current waste crisis, high gas and electricity prices, and climate change.  It is a ‘turn-key, hassle free’ bioenergy system, generating grid-quality 24x7 electricity from biomass and creating biochar, which is a form of carbon capture and storage and useful as an animal feedstock supplement and soil enhancer. The core invention is the patent-pending heat engine.  Heat engines turn thermal energy into mechanical energy. For example, Loy Yang Power turns ~30% of the heat from burning coal (heavy metal pollution (mercury), PM2.5 NOx and SO2, and ash) into electricity, using ~20% of Victoria’s water.  Our heat engine will turn ~30% of heat from waste into electricity, using air and no water, with zero emission sustainable energy in <1% of the footprint of solar PV per kWh. Our unique process is known as closed-loop, recuperated, piston-cylinder Brayton cycle. In our beachhead market the main alternative is Organic Rankine-cycle engines, which are typically only 1/3 as efficient, generating expensive electricity.  The front-end material handling and pyrolysis system is an off-the-shelf charmaker from a reliable local supplier.

Sunpower Renewables

Energy Efficiency and Storage

Sunpower Renewables is part of a global revolution in the energy storage market. The structural changes in the international energy market to a more decentralised and distributed model of energy generation, compounded by gaps in the current renewable energy solutions, have created opportunities for our ground breaking products. We are an Australian solution provider of renewable energy products, developing a range of renewable energy generation and storage devices that allow the user to generate and store energy (from the grid, solar, external generators) and then intelligently release it to appliances based on user-programmed preferences (e.g. in response to time-of-day pricing of electricity). We have designed a box, which is an all in one solution, fully integrating all the different components of the solar plant with additional features like an in-built Inverter, MPPT charge controller, a pure sine wave UPS, a reversible net meter and in-built Li-Ion battery pack for energy storage; this has never been done before and is a game changer for the renewable energy industry and is also our USP.

Python Solar Heating

Energy

Python Solar Heating uses radiant solar energy to heat ambient fresh air. The heated fresh air is delivered into buildings using existing ducted heating systems or newly installed fans and ducting.

The majority of homes and workplaces are not designed or oriented for passive solar capture. Python Solar heating is a technology that allows buildings to be retrofitted to operate effectively in passive solar heating mode.

However, even passive solar designs tend to have health compromising, poor indoor air quality. The trend towards well sealed buildings in the quest for energy efficiency has inadvertently created hermetically sealed boxes, usually without adequate ventilation.

The Python system solves both these problems. The flow of heated fresh air reduces daytime and early evening heating costs and improves indoor air quality to optimise human well-being.

Our two innovative solar heating options are roof mounted solar air heater modules or solar roof heat harvesting systems.

Creative Nurds

Professional Services

Creative Nurds helps renewable energy companies stand out and attract high quality leads by creating websites that work. Your customers visit your website hoping you can solve their problem.
