Cooperative Research Centres

What are Cooperative Research Centres?

Cooperative Research Centres or CRCs are collaborative partnerships between industry, education and government to advance specific areas of interest through projects and development opportunities.

The majority of CRCs have an alignment to cleantech, and actively support the creation of products, services and solutions to tackle important issues such as minmising food waste, enhacing biodiversity, electrifying transport and mobility, and decarbonising hard to abate industries.

CRCs are generally based in one location, but operate nationally with support from a broad array of partners and supports including major universities and research centres, large industry stakeholders, industry clusters and associations, and other allied organisations.

Most CRCs have funding available to support projects and opportunities that align with their mission and purpose, however a co-contribution is required to access this.

We encourage cleantech companies to explore CRCs as an option for research and development of new products and services.
