FAQs
Does it cost anything to be part of the incubator?
No, the Cleantech Power On program is offered for free thanks to support from FB IDEAs and the Victorian Cleantech Cluster. As part of the program, we'll help you to apply for funding through our program partners and competitive grant processes, as well as introduce you to potential investors.
Do I have to give up equity of my startup to join?
Absolutely not. Cleantech Power On is here to help you on your journey and make sure you're equipped with the right tools to propel your startup to commercial success. Along the way, you may meet people that are keen to support you, but the choice to accept investment in exchange for equity will always be up to you.
What is FB IDEAs?
FB IDEAs stands for Fishermans Bend Innovation Diversity Experimentation Activation, and is a government supported non-profit supporting the transition of Fishermans Bend Precinct in Port Melbourne into a major hub for innovation.
The role of FB IDEAs is to:
- promote a collaborative culture in Fishermans Bend and to deliver activations and events that contribute to collaboration and network building,
- support startups, scaleups and creative industries in Fishermans Bend - particularly those in the advanced manufacturing, engineering and design sectors, and
- bring together the tools, skills and partnerships to utilise existing buildings and sites while the precinct is in transition.
FB IDEAs also has a co-working space located at Level 1, 650 Lorimer St, Port Melbourne.
What if I only have an idea, can I still apply?
Of course! We encourage applications from people at all stages of their innovation journey. Part of the discovery process will be to workshop your idea and see whether Cleantech Power On is the best fit to support you. If you haven't registered as a company yet, we can help you through that process to get you up and running.
