We are fortunate in Victoria to have an active and engaged government network including State and Local Government partners and supporters of clean technology.
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) brings together Victoria’s energy, environment, water, agriculture, forestry, resources, climate action, and emergency management functions into a single department to maximise connections between the environment, community, industry and economy.
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is firmly focused on driving a strong and resilient economy that benefits all Victorians – by creating more opportunities for people through jobs and skills; supporting businesses and industries to grow and prosper; and building vibrant communities and regions.
The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. DTF also assists the Government to implement major infrastructure projects and contractual agreements across Victoria.
The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) plans and operates transport in a way that matches the people and products that travel on it, focusing on the destination, rather than which mode we use. To deliver the best outcome for people and the highest return on investment for the Victorian community, transport modes need to complement, not compete.
Global Victoria is the State's trade facilitation agency and gateway to global economies and communities, and has a largest international trade and investment office network than any Australian state or territory.
LaunchVic drives improvements in the startup investment landscape by developing the angel investor and early-stage venture capital markets in Victoria; supporting programs that build founder, investor, and talent capabilities and confidence.
Sustainability Victoria develops and deliver sustainable development programs that help deliver ambitious emissions and waste reduction targets for 2030, and onwards to net zero emissions by 2050.
Agriculture Victoria works in partnership with farmers, industries, communities and other government agencies to grow and secure agriculture in Victoria, in particular with energy smart faming.
The City of Melbourne has long been a supporter of cleantech innovation. Recently it announced the formation of a Zero Carbon Jobs Cluster to prioritise the transition to a strong circular economy in Melbourne.
The City of Greater Geelong has raised the profile of cleantech for more than a decade with dedicated funding programs and incentives for research, development and production of cleantech solutions locally.
The Victorian Cleantech Cluster acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we live and work, and we pay our respects to indigenous Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise the legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have cared for our country for more than 50,000 years.
